Since I'm a new HD Ultra Classic member, I was wondering how many trouble free miles I should expect. I bought it with 26, 240 miles. Is this allot for a HD?
My boss has a 2004 Road King with over 50,000 on it still going strong, and my local dealer had a Road King I forget the year 02 I believe had over 100,000 on it and I watched a guy buy iy smiling and rode away.
Bought mine 2 years ago with 1500 miles on it, (bought dealers bike). I now have 27,500 on it. all worry free. Just normal maintenance. Make sure to do ALL maintenance and you will not have problems.
I have a 2002 Duece with 80,000 miles. Other than maintenance items I've replaced a speed sensor, a fuel injector, and a regulator. The only other problem was the crankshaft/compensator nut or bolt (can't remember which it is off-hand) came loose. Just cleaned, applied red loctite and re-torqued it with an impact wrench about 40,000 miles ago. Been fine since.
I have a 1999 Ultra that I purchased in 05 with 14K miles on it and it currently has 46K miles on it. The only things I have done are tires, brakes and oil. I also have a 1996 miles on it and it had 12miles on it when I purchased it new. It now has 89,860 miles on it. It has had some work but nothing but me being a HPower ****.....
bought my 07 sg with 20k on it and it now has 40'068 and runs and shifts better today than it did then. no plugs, nothing but seafoam in the gas as often as I think to put it in. I asked the mechanic when I bought it "how long are the engines good for" he looked at me and said "you'll not wear it out" now I'm not sure if I look that bad off or are the engines that good. hehe
Kroozeabout.
I have a 2010 Ultra that I purchased in May of 2010 that has 36,000 as we speak, and has pulled a trailer 1,000 of these, and a sidecar has been on it the last 1,000 miles. My previous machine was a 2006 Ultra which had 72,000 on it until it met its death in an accident. All trouble free miles. I did just have a rear brake light switch quit which is covered with the factory warranty. Amsoil 20w50 changed every 5,000 miles.
