Hey Everybody, It's been quite awhile since I've been to the forums. Since I retired from my second career, I've been really busy with my new career. The "Honey Do Man.
A quick question, I'm trading my 08 Ultra for a 12 Road Glide Ultra. I'm keeping my Bagger Brace. Will it fit the !2's with the new pipes configuration, or do I need it at all with the new frame? I never had a wobble on the 08, but my wife bought it, and with her riding with me I'll put anything on that makes it safer.
Let me hear some educated answers, and of course I know I'll get some smart assed ones, but it's all good. Peace!
I have the 09 road glide came from an 01 classic. had the issues and the tru-track on the early one. it helped but not perfect, now on the new frame, I have zero issues with wobble, I say you don't need it but there are others here that say they've experienced it on the new bike. Seems to me harley did their homework and got it right, and everybody I know that has the new frame has not had the problem. in the long run, I don't think your old brace will fit the new bike anyhow due to differences, so you might want to look into that
Doesn't look like they make one for the new '09 and up frame. I don't think it will fit. True Track makes one for the new frames but it cost about $500.
You may find you don't really need it on your new RG. My '12 EC flexes a lot less in the corners than my old '07 RK did. Not sure it would be worth the cost of admission myself.
True track makes a lot of claims about their product but, I have yet to run one.
The Bagger Brace you have won't fit, and isn't needed. I went from a '07 FLTR to the RGU, and it's a whole new ballgame! The frame is better, but the brakes are WAAAY better!
Your bagger brace won't fit your new bike. There is a current debate about the True-Track handling kit that you should read if you feel your new bike may benefit from a stabilizer.
Hey Gunner, looks like you got your answer on the brace. On the other hand, how are you healing up after your accident? Understand the " honey do thing", been retired for 4 years but, there are a lot worse jobs. Good luck on your new purchase.
