I replaced my stock speakers with the H-D Boom speakers on my 2009 Ultra. Both front and rear. They sound GREAT! Much better sound quality, more volume than I care to use. I tried to improve my Street Glide stereo but even with an Arc amp and several speaker models from Arc and Hertz, it didn't get close to what my Ultra sounds like with no amp. Of course having 4 speakers instead of 2 is probably a big help.
Picked em up from Hale's to get a 20% discount. They had em in stock and shipped em out the same day as my order. I couldn't be more pleased.
The GM at my local dealer told me that I was only the fifth person to order a set from his dealership, during the past couple years, since H-D came out w/the BOOM speakers. I was surprised to hear this!
I believe what he said, b/c I googled BOOM speakers and there are only a few hits on the subject. That surprised me too... I only ordered the front fairing speakers for my SG. I listened to the speakers on one of the salesman's bike, and they do sound pretty good. 25% improvement in volume, and I believe that this is accurate. It wasn't breathtaking, but I noticed the improvement enough to order me a pair.
