BUB,HD & Vance & hines. I've heard HD & there OK. To bad, we'll just have to wait to see how the govt screws up any new laws.

I still have my stock mufflers in the garage. But I think that the SE 4" mufflers I'm using will be fine. They passed inspection and law enforcement frequently is behind , along side, and in front of me and never give me a second look.

I picked my Sceaming Eagles up from a fellow forum member for $175

The beauty of slip-ons is how easy it is to change them back to stock, then back to decent pipes when riding again.

Check your state here http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/...isltn/laws.asp

I'm expecting the states to start enforcing the law to make money any time now.

I wouldn't trust this link too much. It isn't very clear IMO.

True!

Sportbikes, coffee can muffler civics, and harleys will all be the reason why we will be running stock pipes someday.
And loud, irritating jap bikes!

BTW, JackPot 3.5" slip-ons w/ quiet baffles sound better, but are as quiet as stock...
Well I'm thinking if I'm going quite, might as well get the EPA stamp as well. I'm retiring from my full time job in about two years, plan to do some serious touring and don't want any troubles with my "brothers in blue".

I know what you are saying, but the Jap bikes just don't sound good to me. Most of them just take the baffles out and they just sound loud, not good. Some HDs are in the same category, granted, but most HDs sound pretty good with after market exhaust or even open pipes like V&H long shots. It's like someone already said, the loud exhaust on bikes, diesel pickups, jap cars, etc are going to bring about laws that will make us all sound like Gold Wings! Those who are pleading to us to police ourselves on this and tone it down some are correct, but I think it is too late to change the direction loud exhaust legislation it going.

Didn't see anything there about being "50 state compliant" or "EPA compliant"???

Yeah, and he makes a good point and it was pretty funny. But come on, even before I owned Harleys, way back when I was a kid, I could tell the difference between a V-twin rumble and a Jap bike!!! There is a difference and the HDs just sound better. I sold a Heritage with the Evo motor. It had V&H long shots on it, no baffles. I've had three different exhaust systems on my Ultra and my wife stills says the old bike sounded better!!! She is a typical "girl" and doesn't know spit from shinola about bikes, cars (she drives a Vette) or performance, but she knows what she likes and she doesn't like loud, but she likes good!!!
