traded my 05 standard in for my 2011 white denim 103 streetglide. I have to say I love it! i also got a sundowner seat for it as well. it sets ya down in the frame alot more. upgraded the speakers to boom audio added lower fairings and 4" rc slipons. the bike rides like a dream. bought mine on memorial day last year after stopping in the dealer on a ride. I saw the white denim sitting there and said oh yes you shall be mine lol
I bought a 2012 Ember Red Sunglo Street Glide with Cruise, yesterday at Gateway Harley Davidson of St. Louis, MO. OTD pricing was $18,500. The actual price was $18,300, but they charge a $200 administration fee and would not waive. It took about an hour of haggeling to reach an agreement. I put $2,500 cash down and had my own financing through a credit union. I feel I got a fair price and hope everyone else can find a dealer out there willing to negotiate. I guess, business must be pretty slow at this time of year....
From a financial perspective, it would be wise of you to sell yours outright if you could and then buy one of the low mile already decked out garage queens that are for sale, even on this site there are some for sale right now.
However if you cannot sell yours which you may very well not be able to in this economy then it would be better to trade for your best deal possible. Then at least you would have the bike that you want. I would shoot for @least an 09 as that was when the major changes were.. FWIW..

I don't think it's possible to get that bike for 18.5K here in Rapid City...no way in hell. SG's sell like crazy up here....no need to mark them down like that.

Congrats but backing out taxes, that is a purchase price of about $17,000 depending upon the county which is about $2,800 off MSRP.
Was that $18,500 OTD price after your $2,500 downpayment?
My loan is for $16,487 (I purchased an alarm, siren, and pager for $487 installed). I didn't want to pay $1,300 for alarm and ABS, so I went this route. I told the sales guy that I wanted to pay $18,000. When I walked in I was told MSRP, so I asked if they would negotiate. We went back and forth a couple of times. He first asked $21,200 and then went to $20,629 and a $1000 in gift cards. Then came back with his Sales Manager and an offer of $19,600. I started to walk. I told him we were leaving, we were going to shop around. He asked us to wait and then came out with a sold sticker and said $18,300, plus $200 admin. fees. To be honest, I was shocked and still am!
BTW - I'm female - it was my husband and I buying the Street Glide for me. My husband has a 2011 Ultra Classic.
