just purchased a used RC Components wheel and it is a 25 mm front axle. This is for a 1" axle bike (pre 08) I also got the rotors with the wheel, so my question is
can i just change out the axle without having to change anything else, or are the front forks where the axle bolts in different? This appears to be the only real difference.
Bike is an 06, wheel was on an 09. It is a road glide.
thanks for the reply, i am not looking to change out the bearings, just want to understand if anyone has just converted to a 25mm axle from a 1" axle and not had to make other changes. The forks are the same from 02 to 12, it bolts up, i have the 25mm spacers, the wheel is centered, so before i drop the $100 or so bucks for a 25mm axle, just wondered if anyone had any experience with this
