My local stealer (killer creek) has quoted me an OTD price on a 2012 tequila sunrise street glide he has.
I asked him to price it w/ D&D pipes, a screamin eagle intake, HD seat w/ rider backrest and a HD tune on it. His OTD was a bit under $26,500.
My question is:
Should I just buy a stock SG and put the pipes, seat (I would get a mustang), intake and do a download tune instead of paying them to do it? He said accesories and labor came to $2,936.00 and that was with a 10% discount.
That just doesnt seem like a deal to me?? Any thoughts or suggestions?
No way would I pay 3000 for a stage 1. No way...I have about 1700 in mine and that is with header, slip ons, heavy breather and a Power Vision. The labor cost me about six beers that I drank while putting the stuff on myself...
I don't think 10% off is much of a deal. I can go to my local dealer and get 20% off near holidays. If you are mechanically inclined at all, you can swap your pipes and add the a/c.
Buy the bike I do the Stage 1 yourself or get someone to help you. Call FuelMoto they'll get you all you need and great support. Also, nice choice of color
Do more shopping man. Take a day & ride to Smokey Mtn HD in Maryville Tenn. About a 3 hr. ride for you. They are doing the best deals I have heard of lately. The dealer in Athens are doing some deals now too I hear. When negotiating, keep in mind that they make money off financing also. Let them know that you know that. If you have cash, keep it in your pocket & pay it off the first payment. Be very particular who you let tune your bike. I dont know of any dealer in the Ga. area with techs knowledgeable enough to do a good tune. Do your research, you wont be sorry. All the small add ons you should be able to handle very easily with a manual. This helps you get to know more about your bike. Check out Zanotti Motor Comp for your parts. They will beat most anybodys price I have found. Good Luck!
