I did the same S&S 111 motor for my 06 SG -- with a three year warranty -- it is an excellent very cool running motor; it runs at least 20 -25 degrees cooler than my 107 RG--you can get one for about $5400 you will not be the fatest out there but certainly not the slowest

I ain't no wrench as they say but, how big is your budget, what do you want as for hp and torque and what rpm do you want your torque? If you are buying another engine, you might as well get some advice here and get it built to fit your needs prior to installation.

i would upgrade to a 95 88's not worth it especially 2006 they run super hot

Nearly brand new 96" motors are selling on Ebay for around 2k. Most are off late model bikes.

07 and later 96" motors aren't a direct swap into 06 and earlier touring bikes.

I don't think a 96" motor will work in your frame. I'd make real sure of that before I bought one.
