I got the mini beast after learning about it on this site. I love it, much better than stock and very easy to install. I get attention when I push the button. WoOT!
I got the mini beast on ebay for $115 shipped. HERE

Basz thanks for posting the HD link to the skull thing, I like the way it looks with that decal much more than a stock mini beast.

I had a Mini-beast. I lked it. Sold bike, bought another bike, bought HD horn, not loud, only one report, replaced with Stebel Nautilus from www.bikerhiway.com, extra loud at 139db, $34.95 plus freight.

Howard's Horns has a set-up for bikes with lowers. I LIKE 'em.

I have 2 FIAMM Freeway Blasters (hi and lo tone) on my 09 Ultra. I mounted them behind the saddlebags, one on each side. They sound like an Italian sports car. They're loud but not obnoxious. Cost me $25 for the pair and I wired a relay to power them.

+1 on Howard's Horns. The duals are very loud, people with their windows up talking on the cell phone WILL hear them. But.....there have been reports of the horn bracket breaking, sometimes repeatedly. Hasn't happened to me. They are not plug and play.

I had a Mini Beast 1 on my bike until it stopped working. It lasted less than a year. Sent emails to Pro Pad about a replacement since I purchased it last winter and installed it in the spring - no reponse. I recently replaced it with the HD Air horn.

I think the best bang for your buck is the Steble horn. It is sold under a bunch of different names and it's very loud. Harbor Freight sells them for $39.99 under the name "Bad Boy". There's always a 20% or 25% coupon around the net so it's around $30.

Unless they changed it, the mini beast is just a Steble horn with a cover and a wiring harness.

You can separate the horn from the compressor, put the compressor under your seat and the horn in the original cow bell or another similar size horn cover. The wiring is pretty simple, no need for a plug and play harness, you can wire it yourself

It took me about 2 hrs soup to nut to do the job and I'm not handy. I can take some pictures if anyone needs them

Parts list (found this list in another forum)

1) 20 amp in-line fuse
2) About 3 +/- feet of red 14g wire
3) About 3 +/- feet of black 14g wire
(I used 14 g speaker wire)
4) Appropriate terminal connections to connect relay and compressor
5) 5/16 to 5/16 Vacuum Connector (Lowes or Home Depot)
6) Vinyl tubing with 5/16 I.D. (Lowes or Home Depot)
7) Small plastic wire hider tubing (Harbor Freight)

++1 on Howard's Horns. Loud as HECK!

I had the horn bracket break, not a Howard's bracket, but the HD horn bracket you re-use on your bike. I made a replacement bracket out of 1" x 4" steel very easily, and painted it wrinkle black. Looks great an it will never break.

I still have nothing by high praise and the loss of hearing thanks to my Howard's Horn

Saved my butt just this morning...damn cagers on phones!
