I currently use the HD half helmet headsets and really don't like them. Does anybody use something else that might have high quality sound and is more comfortable? Looking for recommendations.
My wife and use the smh10 SENA's when we ride with helmets. They have been perfect. We used them on a trip around lake michigan this summer for 5 days, and they helped make the trip even better! We also were able to communicate at over 1/2 mile apart with no problems.
If you get them make sure you do not purchase old stock. The current versions have a mini usb plug that allows you to update the firmware.

I've got a set of those, and they hurt like **** after about an hour. Great sound, but they have a pressure point on the bone behind each ear. I did a temporary fix on a road trip by wrapping the frames with some HVAC sponge strips I picked up at wally world. Looks a little bit ghetto, but did the trick--we could wear them for hours on end without pain. I intended to ditch the foam when I got home and actually heat up the frame to bend it around the pressure point. Thats all one really needs to do for a permanent fix, but I've been far too lazy to do that. If you like the headsets, thats what I would do. Cheapest route, too.
Thanks for the suggestions! I will check these out. Taking the HD sets back tomorrow. As stated in an earlier post; they have pressure points that start to hurt after only a short time, and I am not impressed by the sound. I would like to find a way to use my Bose headset on my scoot....great sound.
Both myself and my wife wear 1/2 helmets. The intercom set that came with the UC needs pockets for the ear speakers. We bought a second set of the ones like the OP has/had that have the plastic band that wraps around the back of the head. Like MasterGuns has said, they hurt like hell after a short time.
I'd like to find a decent pair to use with a 1/2 helmet. Something like the earbuds someone posted but with a mic that can be clamped to a 1/2 helmet. It seems every pair on the market has the flat speakers that require a full or 3/4 helmet. Does anyone know if it's possible to have the disc speakers on the HD Full Helmet Premium Music and Communication Headset swapped out for earbuds?
I thought I saw a posting on ebay a year or so ago about a guy that was selling an adapter that you plug into the HD console and then use a Plantronics Mic/earbud system. I checked the Plantronics site and can't see that set there now - guess they discontinued it.
ive had sucsess mou nting the speakers to the strapps on the half helment,it aint pretty but it can work, if your lid has the zip on neck flap that will also hold the speakers.
