Thought I'd keep it stock.
What a mistake that would have been.
I always considered the Stage 1 modifications a waste of money. I had tried the SE slipons, SE air cleaner, and Fuelpak on an '08 that I had for a while and was very disappointed.
But then I picked up a used '09 for 2-up riding (my wife doesn't like riding the Ulysses, seat height issue) and got sucked in by all the good posts regarding Fuel Moto's Stage 1 offering and decided to go with the 3.5" Jackpots, Fuel Moto SE air cleaner, and Dynojet Power Vision.
With quiet baffle when I ride solo, and the even quieter and easy to install insert when we ride 2-up, the sound is perfect for both of us. The low and mid-range performance gain is much more that I expected, and makes this Road King a lot more fun. It's now a very close second to the Uly in fun factor.
The Power Vision satisfies my need to know what's going on while riding, and tinker with the tune using the data logging feature with no laptop required. I can see at a glance what gear I'm in, engine temperature, battery voltage, mpg, rpm, AFR, and many others.
