So my left side hard bag shakes really bad on my 97 road king...I've tried adjusting the mounts ...tried saddlebag rail and fender rail connection ...any suggestions to stop this thing from "shaking "...thanks.
My right side is perfect...
Are the washers on the quick release pins? If so what about replacing the pins, but before I did that I would try swapping them from the other bag and see if that helps.
Ill try changing the pins around but I think its more than that.....
Primo. The rear mount would cause that? Wouldn't it do it to the right side as well...ill check them too.
As a suggestion, have a look at the bottom of the shaking hard bag and see if both rubber standoffs that go between the bag and the mount rail are intact.
When you removed the seat you had to remove the seat strap bracket. It is possible it was not put on correctly.
#1 Pull the bag off and check underneath to make sure the rubbers are still on.
#2 Loosen the strap bracket but don't remove.
#3 Put bag back on making sure it falls on the bottom rail in propper place.
#4 Put the pinsm, washer, rubber washer back on into locking postion.
#5 Tighten the bracket holding the strap and pin.
If you don't have the strap on the bracket you will not have to remove the bracket to remove the seat.
Yeah rubbers are there...I just don't understand it...its not like its my first bagger...but I checked alot of stuff...helll the muffler doesn't even move...but this thing shakes like a seizure is happing... so I hope maybe one trick u guys have I haven't thought about...thanks to all u guys...keepem coming

Are you talking about when it's idling and on the side stand?
If so.... I can't believe I'm saying this........ it's normal. My bag and muffler shake on the left side when on the side stand. But lift the bike off the stand and the shake goes away. All of my baggers have done that.
