Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum. I've read about all the problems with the Harman Kardon upgrade problems. I have a 2006 SG, my current software is ST10 V 7.8.0 & TMS 320 V 8.19.0. I've tried four times to upgrade with transfer rates from (whatever my computer was set at) to 8, 4, and 2 to the cd-r. It seems like the radio reading the disc got slower and did not come near completion (13%) the slower my transfer rate was to the disc. Any ideas? Also what is ST versus TMS mean with the software? TIA.
The ST10 and TMS320 are two different microprocessors in the radio.
With the ST10 at 8.19 but the TMS320 at 7.8, an update was previously tried, with the TMS320 update failing and the ST10 successfully completing its portion of the update.
As I recall, the TMS320 failure can be caused by a defective SDRAM chip or a CD drive not able to read the data on the disc. However, it's been a while so you might want to check with Iron Cross Audio.
Thx for the info. I did try to update it in 07 or 09 but thought I was unsuccessful. Apparently I was partially correct. I'll give Iron Cross a call. Do you know what features the TMS VS the ST control (ie am I going to gain anything significant out of the ST?). I don't use Bluetooth, CB, or intercom, but do hook up my ipod to the front aux port.

Disregard all, I guess the 10th time and 3 hours is a charm! Got updated, had to be some goofy glitch as I reused one of the 5 cd's I'd burned. I'd like to thank to Tony at Iron Cross for the time on the phone enlightening me on some of the software ins and outs.
