Default Oil Gage Mod

Okay this is probably a little overkill but a mod to think about if you're going to have your fairing opened up. I replaced my air temperature gage with an oil temperature gage and had them both located to the same side. This way I could see what was going on with my oil at a quick glance. Moved my voltage gage to under my fuel gage. Might come in handy on a hot day.

Wish I could take credit for doing the work. I let my dealer do it while they were working on some other warranty work. Didn't cost that much for the labor though.

I just did it today also. I tried to switch the gauges but the harness in the package for the gauge plugs into the plug for the air temp sender under the fairing not the gauge. I didn't want to cut and solder wires so I put it where the air temp was. I also ran mine under the tank instead of along the frame tube.

I did this 2 years ago on my SG when I installed the Oil Temp gauge and got rid of the air temp gauge. Really easy to do.

TXDuece,

The guage looks like it matches the others. Did you purchase a matching oil temp guage from MoCo? I am thinking of doing same mod this winter.

Thanks.
