Default 2012 street glide adjustible backrest question

Hi all, I was wondering I am trying to install the harley adjustible backrest. Can someone show me a picture of how the cable is run, the directions are very hard to understand. Also not sure were the so called protectant plastic attaches. Thanks Kash. My phone number is (203) 258-3395 if someone wants to walk me through. Thanks again. Part numbers are 52546-09A and 52596-09A.

I'm assuming the protectant plastic attaches to the fender where the cable will rub on it.
This was not included when I bought it in 2009 and it rubbed the paint off the fender under the seat. But it stopped me from ever having a solo seat.
