Default Removing tins

My 09 RK is my second bike and I've been doing all of my own maintenance on the bikes, which I don't mind doing, but I'm wondering how much work it would be to remove the fenders and tank to have them repainted. Thanks for any help.

It should take a couple of hours, it's not that difficult. It's a bit of a PITA taking the fuel pump out.

front fender and tank are really simple, rear needs a little more stuff to be removed for access but not a big deal

I have an 07. I didn't take the fuel pump out. Hardest part is the rear fender. During install its nice to have a second set of hand. I labeled baggies for each type of bolt.

Unbolt the shocks and let the swingarm drop and you can get up underneath to access the forward bolt on the rear fender. Getting the fuel pump in and out is probably the trickiest part of the job, but it really only takes a few minutes once you figure out how it all works.
