so is there much performance differences between these or not... what about sound? I know sound is subjective but do they all about sound the same some just a little louder than others? I have the stock headers on my 07 just looken for a little more... maybe santa will bring them to me hehe
I have an -7 RKC and went with the Rineharts. The dyno run showed about .12 added HP. Sound is nice and not aggravating. Go to a bike night and see who has these brands and listen to them.
Bought my 08 with V&H which were loud. They were actually to loud after a 300 mile day. Bought some rhineharts and i am very pleased. Not sure about any performance though, bike was never dynoed. Definetly got to bike night and listen to bikes with different pipes on them. Just make sure what your listening to, a bike with engine work sounds different than stock with the same pipes.
I have never had it Dyno'ed either, but FatCats 2:1 has given me a great performance sound and additional HP. It has lots of bark on the trottle, but is quiet at idle and at cruise. It is not a deep rumble sound. This exhaust was designed for high output and it sounds like it too.
I have no experience with the other 2:1 exhausts you named, just the 2:2 versions.
I have the Fat Cat with quiet baffle and it's great. Has a bark when you nail the gas, but generally just a nice rumble rolling down the road. No more ear ringing at the end of 700 mile day.
I like the D&D if I were to ever go 2 into 1 but my wife bought me the V&H Big Radius for my 09 SG, I had the D&D on my 95 80" evo and got a full +15 hp gain but The bike was nothing but stock except being a stock evo.
My bike had V&H Dresser Duals with slash cut slip ons and it was too quiet. Cagers didnt hear me on the freeway. I kept the headers and added Rinehart 4" slip-ons.....LOVE the setup!! They're louder but not obnoxious...but I'm heard.
D&D Boss fat cat 2:1, excellent performance, sounds like a dragster avoid quiet baffle if upgrading cam and other components for more HP & Tq (too restrictive, only if you leave everything stock) D&D also make Boarzilla for builds> 113, can be very loud depending on which baffle and what your build consist of.. I wear ear plugs when I ride to avoid wind damage, so loud doesn't bother me. Good luck with your choice
