I needed a harley part and my local dealer didnt have it so I went online and sure enough Surdykes said yes we have it in stock....so i ordered it , paid for it and thought ok I'll be ridin again in 3-4 days right ? WRONG--- 2 days later I get an email from them saying thanks for your order , your part will ship out in 10 days .. WTF ??? so I email them back and say i thought you had it in stock / the answer I got was , yes we do but we dont pull our stock , we'll drop ship it to you from Harley... so I say that should only take a phone call then i should have still had it tommorrow , not 10 more days !!! Answer ---well processing takes time... BUL----!!! I said I needed it thats why i made sure you had it in stock before I ordered it ... ANSWER..... well it might not take 10 days , sometimes it goes quicker ... so basically from all the LIES I was told and the laziness of them its gonna take me about 14 days to get a part that "they have in stock" from about 200 miles away !!! So just letting my fellow bikers know WHO NOT to buy from.... Lakeshore HD for me from now on !!!!
I guess I'm spoiled because I can walk into Surdykes and get what I need. Tell ya what, let me know what you need, transfer the payment + shipping + a modest handling fee ( ) and I'll go get it and ship it to ya.

That's a small price to pay for a discount. Be happy that there are a few dealers still offering it. I understand your frustration, but in the end I would rather wait a month to save some serious coin than to not get a discount at all. If I needed it right away, I would look locally.

Just to let you know, last order I placed through Lakeshore took 3 weeks. I am willing to wait for the money that I save. If I need something ASAP I start calling dealers and have them UPS it to me but I usually end up paying retail for the part. Just my 2 cents...............

+1. I really appreciate their discount and the shipping on the orders I've placed has been less than other online HD vendors. However, if you need the part yesterday, you do have to look elsewhere.
Well I had a bad experience the first time I ordered from LakeShore. I ordered some passenger footboard covers that ended up being back ordered at least a week. The very next day I called and cancelled the covers and said to send everything else (which had already processed and was out to me) I was told no problem and sure as **** when I got back from my trip a week later I had a package from LSHD. The covers I cancelled! The charge was never subtracted and they would let me PAY to ship them back.
Ended up selling them to a forum member and losing.
Not the end of the world but still a not so positive experience. I have also come to find they make up A LOT of their discounts on shipping costs! They are EXPENSIVE!
I am a faithful Lake Shore fan. It's rare that I could walk into my dealer and find exactly what I am looking for. All they sell is the stuff everyone wants.
But you need to realize, that no one is stocking parts in this economy, even Walmart. Stock on shelves is money tied up.
For me, it's a no-brainer. Order from my dealer, or order from LS. Either way, I still gotta wait.
BTW, I order a huge mess of parts from LS last week. After I totaled up my savings, I was floored. Over $650 in savings.
