Hey guys. As you can see I'm a newbie. Joined in '06 but figured I wouldn't ask stupid questions but rather gain knowledge and ask when ready. So here it goes. My first post in 5 years...
I have an '05 Road King Police with a 95" kit and all the bells and whistles. I have Vance and Hines True Duals on it that currently has fishtail slip-ons. Love the classic look of the tail but I'm looking for a bit more. I don't want to get flamed but I want it as loud and deep as possible. A buddy of mine has the CFR knockoffs and I love the sound. Just can't do the same pipe because we ride together all the time and he has almost the same bike. Are there any options out there for that sound? Louder and deeper than anything? Performance isn't a problem. I know plenty of people to sort that out. Just looking for something like the CFR but different in it's own way.
How about get the real CFR's. That should one up your friend. If that isn't an option, try the V&H Hi Output slip ons. I ran those for a while and they sounded great. Too bad they are made for large displacement motors, because I love the sound, but lost a ton of tq.
i have the 4" rineharts...just put them on my new bike....had the 3.5's on my last bike....also have a big cam....( wich i think changes the tone of your exaust also ) but no comparisson over the 3.5's.....absolutly love the 4s........great tone and sound.....loud but can still hear my stereo.....but im not sure how good the rineharts are for adding or subtracting hp....if it helps or takes away from a built motor....happy Turkey day.....
If your fishtails have removable end caps take them off and replace them with something round - it will definitely change the sound. Fishies usually give the pipes a bit if the old HD crackle (I like) while round end caps will mellow that crackle out.
