Default baisley spring

I just got the famous Baisley spring. I haven't removed the cam cover yet but was wondering if the roll pin which holds the spring in place can be removed without removing the cam support plate from the engine?

Yes, the plate protrudes the case once the cover is removed. You don't need to remove the plate to replace the spring.

It can be done but you are going to wish you had three hands.
