Default Darkside Car Tire for 2007

YES...
I've searched alot of threads
Looking for updated info
I'm not going to be using it on Luguna Sega or Watkins Glen..
If I go fast it's usually 75 mph and straight thats it
Don't want to hear about different compounds. etc etc..
been there read about it

Looking for an update for any one who has installed
Austone 175R16 on 2007..
clearence issues solved, mounting info,pressure

Yes I'm tired of changing tires every 8-10,000

I installed a Auston tire about 200 miles ago. It fits very snug, but has not rubbed at all. I'm still trying to find the "sweet spot" as far as air pressure. I have gone from 45lbs to 28lbs and still it feels very loose. I'm not very pleased with it and if I had to do it over I would not buy it. Like you I go through a motorcycle tire about every 6000 to 9000 miles and changed tire like every year, however I don't like the feel of this car tire and it was the only one I could find to fit a '07. Hope this helps and sorry if its not what you wanted to hear, but I'm trying to be honest.

Coolerman just put a C/T on his bike, you might want to check with him. His, I believe is an '05 or '06 so it should be the same tire.

Im running the austone on an 06 Ultra. I'm currently at 32-33 lbs. Fit is TIGHT and I have experienced some rubbing. Shock pressure has to be kept at a min. of 25psi or it rubs on big bumps. Belt guard had to go. Just not enough room. Others report that they kept the guard but I dont see how.
The ride is definitely different than what you are accustomed to. It feels like a 280-300 MC tire. It wants to stand the bike up when exiting a curve but thats what you want to do anyway right? It just takes some getting used to having the help. Air pressure is critical. 2-3 lbs makes a noticeable difference so you have to find a spot that you like. The added contact patch and weight of the tire will affect your 0-60 times but I suspect thats a non-issue. Sticks like glue in the twisties and the wife noticed the improved ride. What else you wanna know?

Great info Coolerman...

what is the "actual" width of the tire on the rim?
plus I guess I need a tube to ...

I know thw the tire data says 26.90 diameter and 5.5" tread width

6 3/8 mounted width. No tube needed unless you have wire wheels.
