Default ricors and lowerring

Can i use the ricor valves along with the progeressive or h-d 1" lowering springs?Would there also be any difference between these two springs or do the both feel about the same?

Yes you can. Its hard to say if there will be any difference between HD and Progressive springs, they are both multi-rate springs, but there is no standard for rating amongst manufactures of multi-rate springs. Who knows, maybe HD and Progressive springs are made by the same people. There is much debate between the use of single rate and variable rate springs, I have used both and the single rate springs worked best for me. Google and do some reading about the different types of suspension spings before you commit to purchase.

I allway used progessive rate springs on my jeeps and liked those.Wouldnt be suprised it these hd springs and progressives were made by same manufacturer. With such a short travel i was wondering if progressive rates would really effect much
I know tihs setup would cost as much as mono tubes but read to much mixed reviews on those .Figured this route i wouldnt have to be concerned about clunks and leaking nitrogen tubes.

My “clunk” observation with multi-rate springs; the softer rate section is too soft, and the stiffer rate section is too stiff. After you subtract the preload compression length, the soft section is all used up within the first inch of travel. This soft section does not provide enough resistance to keep the valve seated atop the damper rod. On sharp bumps the increased fluid pressure can not be adequately relieved by the valve, so the whole valve body momentarily floats off it's seat and slams back down creating a "clunk". This condition still exists with weight matched springs and a properly set up front suspension, but a "clunk" a very rare occurrence.

I went with Ricor Intiminators and HD lowered springs. Getting it installed in January. I too was also a little skeptical of the mixed reviews of the Monotubes. Love or hate, there was no middleground. Read generally positive reviews of the Ricors, plus their 40% sale sealed the deal for me.

I went ahead and got the ricors,I leaning toward the hd springs too.Im thinking with these valves a more standard spring and not progressive rate would be better.

HD springs are "progressive", or multi-rate rate springs. (not to be confused with the Progressive brand name). take a look at the HD lowering kit, anytime some of the spring coils are spaced closer and some are spaced wider then you have a multi-rate spring. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

From the product pictures it looks as if progressive and h-d springs are both muti rate . It looks as if the h-d have less of a varible wrap.Dont know if the product pictures would be accurate of the accutual spring.I dont like to analize this stuff to much I just want to take it apart put something in there and have it work and forget about.I just need to get rid of that front brake dive its driving me nuts on 2up.
