2 questions to keep the discussion alive:

Who would buy a used bike with a CT on it, who wouldn't .......... and why?

car tire tells me the seller is "outside the box" who knows what else has been half-a$$ed on the bike.

So there's a car tire on it. What makes you think anything is half assed.

The car tire wouldn't concern me. I rode Wings on car tires for many years and several hundred thousand miles with absolutely ZERO issues. If the bike was in good shape and was what I wanted at the right price I wouldn't think twice about buying it. If I didn't like the car tire, I would replace it.

Lots of negative posts about car tires. The answer is very simple. If you don't want a car tire, don't put one on.

a long time ago (yes I am old) I bought a 1972 superglide & it had a 15 radial car tire on the rear - didn't deter me

I think it would take more than a car tire to deter me, I'd be more worried about the overall condition of the bike.

I think if the CT was a slick, and it had wheelie bars, it might deter me.
Unless I was shopping for a drag bike.
You don't see many dressers turned into drag bikes though...

I probably would not buy a touring bike older than a 2009 so I could put a ct on it. I have road on both and I preferred the ct. The cost and the mileage are just side benefits. S0 YES I WOULD BUY A BIKE WITH A CAR TIRE.
