I dropped to a 30T on the Tri Glide from the 32.... Big difference, I didn't think a cam change was necessary after that...6TH gear very usable after sprocket change...and stock belt fit, no new belt....

Now keep in mind, this was my 2010 Tri Glide....

I have a 2011 SG with a 103 and had the SE 255's installed. I'm no master tuner or 'expert' in any way. But I will tell you that I am 110% happy with the power improvement over the stock cams. I know there are alot of folks out there that don't like the 255's. To each their own. Everyone is different and have their own opinions. I have not had mine on a dyno yet, but seat of the pants feel is awesome. Just my 2 cents.

I have SE 255 on both our bikes with 103" good response with no issues with em and ESP doesn't get avoided don't know if that's important to you.

I was in the same situation as you are on my '11 103 RGU: 2 up touring for probably 50% of the miles I put on the bike as well as pulling a trailer on long trips.

After reading thread after thread here and elsewhere as well as talking with my dealer and an indy I trust and respect I am going with 255s. My dealer is installing them for me this winter. There were 2 additional factors for me making this decision on the 255s. The first is the fact that my bike is only 4 months old and since I plan on doing a lot of long trips on the bike next year warranty coverage is a concern to me. The second is that these cams make a load of torque where it benefits my riding style most. Since I am riding 2 up as well as pulling a trailer I just don't need a cam that makes peak power and torque higher in the RPM range. I think that there might be some cams which are nominally better but so many people with the 255s are very pleased with them.

I do have a question for you as well as others here. You said that you do most of your riding between 1000 and 3000 RPM. Is there a reason you keep your RPMs so low? My dealer told me and I have also read that these newer engines both like to be run and run better at higher RPMs. I typically try not to cruise much below 2750ish RPMs. That took some getting used to for me but now that I have adjusted the bike does seem like it runs along very easy in the 3000 to 4000 RPM range.

Good luck with your search.

Craig

PS. I can't wait until next summer when we are going to spend a week in the Colorado mountains and I can put the bike and the cams to a good test!

255 cams will void the esp warranty and the stock warranty unless you had em installed at time you purchased the bike new....dsrn mufflers, air cleaner or tuner will void it if they want to be ******** which they can be

I heard great things about the Woods 555 and 777. I ended up going with the Andrews 54 cams which are almost identicle to the woods 555's. Just got the Super Tuner last week and will install the cams end of this week hopefully.

I'd like to see someday how a 116 with SE 259 cams would run in my bagger.

My 07's EITMS kicks in still with the Andrews 26H, about the same as it did stock with a download and with the Fuel Moto Power commander... It has to be really hot outside though or having really put the bike through it's paces....My 26H cams pull very well and is very smooth....I had a set of 255 and a set of 26 and opted for the latter...Flip of the coin really...sold the 255 to a member...My indie suggested the Andrews....You might still be a bit lean on the tuning but it won't make that much difference in stop n go traffic in 100 degree weather is what i am told....Parade fan is the only fix for that or a Goldwing...LOL
