I hope you are right. I am very much locked into the Fastaire; the only thing that I wish they make is the clear one, but Jim has told me through email that they don't have a plan for a clear windshields.
I guess I will go with the light gray. Hopefully, I can see through it at night.
I have the light gray and I can see through it just fine in the dark and you cant beat the price, quality and customer service Fast Aire provides.
Bags: I will admit to not having paid alot of attention to which bags fit the best. I know they T-Bags & the HD bags work well. The point of interest is the flap that goes down behind the windshield. If its a thin one made from hard PVC type material then that shouldn't be a problem. Some of the ones Ive seen at bike events have a thick material as a flap & that could be an issue.
Clear windshield: I didnt do the Aero in clear simply because there's just not a demand for it.
For those that purchased something from Fast Aire over Thanksgiving, all item were shipped yesterday. ......... Thank You !
Picked up my 2012 Ultra last Wednesday and the first thing I noticed was how the top of the windshield cut my vision. Had my mind made up to order a 10.5" Clearview. But, after reading this thread, I now have a 10" Fast Aire Aero on order.
Quick decision, hope it was the right one.
I received my windshield yesterday. Very fast shipping!
There is no problem to install the windshield with my windshield three pouches, except, I have a little hard time to install the fairing trim. I wish either hole on the end can move aside about 1/8", then it will be perfect.
I took a twenty mile ride at variable speeds to test the windshield (no helmet), and below are the differences.
I can look ever the windshield now. Very happy!
There is no change in term of wind hit my face. 9" windshield is just right for my height. I don't want higher, or lower height.
There is no magic on the buffering, but I am happy with what I want: Look over the windshield.
I don't want to misslead anyone by saying that there is no buffering, or almost no...anything. That's BS to me! Unless, the guy has tested the windshield with a full face helmet on.
Go figure!
