Windshield Solution
My 2014 had the short, stock, worthless windshield replaced by the HD 10" optional one purchased at the dealer. I think it's a terrible product with distortion in the "flip" and very little tint. I found a local company, www.7jurock.com, and contacted them. They make windshield for most brand and models of motorcycles. I ordered a style just like my 10" model but no distortion in the flip and a very nice dark tint. Best of all, most their windshield run about $100. They are happy to make just about anything you want in size or height and offer 3 shades of tint. They will also make any model wider or an inch taller or whatever you want.
If your looking for a very nice windshield to suit your needs, check their website or give them a call.

OP report back after you have it on and some miles-
The FLHX is sold with a "deflector", not a "windshield".
So it's not worthless it is a styling exercise
for some of us cheep guys ( me), take off Ultra windshields can be purchased for about $35.
The HD Lexan is tough ( no ebay shattering), and optically good.
I don;t like a tint as i ride at night in the boonies ( elk patrol), and I don;t want a curve so I can tuck into the windscreen in crap weather and look through it.
the lexan is easily cut with a dremel or jigsaw, if exposed, the cut edge is polished with sandpaper.
however I cut the bottom hidden edge.
I use 10" ( stock), 8.5" and 7.5" windscreens depending on which seat I use, I like the top edge of teh windscreen to "appear" to intersect the road about 45' ahead of the bike----that'll blast most of the bugs and grit over my hairline
my cost- $70 and 20 minutes

Really?
I've only been riding for a little over 50 years the last 39 have been spent looking thru my windshield w/o any problems or bug/rocks/rain hits. I had no idea I've been doing it wrong all this time....

Lol, you absolutely have NOT been doing it wrong. Its simply preference. Otherwise the Road King, Heritage and every Gold Wing on the Road would come from the factory......... broken.
