Unless your using the "Street Tuner" you have voided your warranty the same as the rest of us using any other tuner, if their is a problem directly related to the tuner.

HD makes it very clear in their parts catalog what voids the warranty and most of the SE parts do, they are marked with a checkered flag

IMO most of the high end tuners (SERT, SEPST ,TTS,PV,Direct LInk, etc) are great and accomplish the same thing in the end. A lot of what to look for is if you are going to have the bike dynoed and have someone else tune it , what are they comfortable with using? Its important that the tuner is knowledgable using the product that you buy. If your going to do the tune or use a canned MAP or self tune that the product may be the one for you. I think its very important to do some research and before buying and know what you are getting into and what you expect for results.

Ive used the
Fuelpak-super easy install, worked ok for stage 1 but no ability to dyno or make changes outside of what parameters V & H send you. Also on the new bikes it eliminates the O2 sensors and is a piggyback unit

PClll- can be dynoed, I had great luck with Fuel Moto and their canned MAPS, but also a piggy back unit and eliminates the O2 sensors

SERT- very good results but I had to have the bike dynoed at a $ 400 cost, at the time it did not have the self tune that I believe the new SESPT has.

Now I am using the Power Vision with a Fuel Moto MAP and the bike is great, Im going to play with some of the data loging features and see if I can improve on the MAP that Jamie sent me. What I like best about the PV is ease of use, the self contained screen that allows you to monitor , code reset, data log etc. The PV also seems very user friendly and Fuel Moto is always helpful with support. I thin at this time the only downside is not a lot of tuners are using the product so if you wanted to get the bike dynotuned it might be harder. But that is not on my list.

Are you confusing the SERT with the SESPT? The SERT is ownded by TTS and is no longer made. The SESPT is made by SPX Kent Moore. The SESPT does not require the laptop for data collection, but has enough other issues that the TTS is still out front.

Never seen a bad report on the SERT, I have 2 of them. PCs used to be the favorite around here but several people had problems so they kinda went away.

I have the se race tuner. You only need a computer while in the garage downloading the collected data and reflashing the ecm. I cannot speak about the other tuners, but I have no problem using the tuner and smart tune function. I am by no means and expert, so if I can use, it anyone can

I had the SERT, sent it to TTS and had it upgraded. Nice tool to tune your bike. If you aren't using a dyno, just put your laptop in a small backpack. Not a big deal.

Doesn't matter what the "best tuner" is , it matters what the guy who is tuning likes.

Some truth to it. A good tuner and a TTS is hard to beat.

I'm another happy Power Commander V customer from Fuel Moto. Jamie and company are very helpful and knowledgable. I use the MAP provided and it runs great!

They're not cheap! I'm looking at the Thunder MAX EFI module. $900.00

It replaces the factory ECM. Easy install, more power, better throttle response, cooler engine, idle control and adjustable rev limiter, HUGH base map library included and it's the only one you ever need (per the manufacturer.)

New exhaust, cams, add inches, nitrous... supposedly it can handle it AND no dynos required.

check 'em out:

Good luck,
Ken
