Default Thoughts on "Adjustable Aux Passenger Footpeg Mounts"?

Thinking about buying the "Adjustable Aux Passenger Footpeg Mounts" (54157-10, page 408 current parts/accessories book). Anyone have these? Thoughts? What size pegs? (e.g. 50130-95A or 50131-95A - Large versus small)

I do not know about those. However, my wife wants these for Christmas;

Those look cool - but wouldn't meet need for variable foot position while riding. The advantage of the part I'm looking at is that it provides an extra position to put your feet while riding, not unlike highway pegs mounted to engine guards.

Not directly responsive, but let me offer a caution. DAMHIK this ...

On my '07 RG the bolts holding the footboard assemblies both front and rear are Grade 8. I presume yours are, too. If you swap them out, make sure to use Grade 8 replacements, not polished stainless steel, which is typically about Grade 5. Chrome is no better, if even that good.

I have the adjustable passenger foot pegs on my bike. First off they do not require you to remove/change the bolts holding the footboard assemblies in place, the pegs mount around the existing footboards.

Now on to the question. The foot pegs work well and my wife likes them. It works exactly as you state above in that it gives her an extra position to put her feet while we are riding, so she is not locked in one place. She pretty much likes them straight up, so I went with P/N 50576-05, but would probably recommend something round (like P/N 50915-90T) if you think your passenger will adjust the foot pegs from time to time.

And yes, it is conceivable the pegs could be adjusted while in motion, but I am not sure I would recommend it. It does not take tools or anything, but not sure it is the safest thing that you could do.

My girls loves them! We do a lot of 250 mile + days and here knees do bother her after a while. The adjustable passenger pegs really helped her. I agree, the other product wouldn't allow her to move her foot/leg position while riding while the aux footpegs do. I didn't buy the HD version, rather the Kuryakyn ones. The Kury's came with the footpegs with the kit. Same product just quite a bit less expensive.

I have these on my Ultra too. The OL loves them. She will flip them to the all the way forward position while we are on the road, just have to watch out for that when we get off the highway and I need to stop because they can hit you in the back of the legs then.

Hey yall, I made a big mistake and now shooting my self in the foot for it. I purchased the Harley chrome covers for the passenger. the instructions called for drilling the holes, my Dumb A** drilled one of the holes a bit to wide and now I've lost the self locking screw. does anyone know what size screw comes with these covers? what can be done to fix this? I dont see my self buying the entire footpeg just to re drill. if you look closely at my profile pic you can see the screw missing :/ the footpeg cover doesnt seem loose but at the same time I didnt think the self locking crew would work it self out. any suggestions/ideas or ways anyone could help this rookie.
thanks

I went a different route, but here is my solution, which is adjustable. I used the Kuryakyn Adjustable Passenger Peg Mounts #7527 with Harley-Davidson Rubber & Chrome Mini Passenger Floorboards.

What you have lost is a self tapping maching screw. I guess if you don't want to get a new footboard plate then you'll need to buy the next size up screw. I suggest you go to a really good hardware store and see if they can get you sorted.
