I went with 2-1-2 duals for my 2010 SG. I have Vance & Hines power duals head pipe and 4" Rhinehart mufflers. Love the deep sound of the 4" pipes and have more power with the setup (and much less heat without the cat).
I also have all the clamps and mounting brackets that came with the OEM 2011 touring exhaust system..........
If you do a fuel moto headpipe you would need the stock sheilds for the 2-1-2 but most companies supply everything you need to fit their system. Pipes, brackets, clamps, and sheilds. You usually just need to pick up new exhaust gaskets.
I did the Python true dual system and as an added benifit the mounting bracket acts as a heat sheild for the rear brake light switch.... who knew.....

if you do the fuelmoto 2-1-2, then you'll also need the crossover pipe, in addition to the heatshields.
I picked up a brand new in the box V&H hi output slip on. Sounds great! I'll post pics when I get home. Still a 2-1 system though but for $180 I couldn't argue!
