It's refreshing to see that someone knows what he is talking about. You probably need a scanning electron microscope to measure .00001 of an inch.
The S.E. catalog has good specs. on all their cams, this is about as good as it gets without having the CAD data or manufacturing drawings to grind the cam.

Unfortunately there are some that like to talk down the 255, and some of it comes from people who have never had them.
255's come to light in 6th gear on the highway going 65-75 and come up on a mountain pass.....roll on TORQUE.
The gentle ramps on the lobes are easy on the lifters....and the R&D costs have been spent on it. This is a quiet cam that delivers, while taking it easy on the valvetrain.....and no need to talk about thin head gaskets to get it to work right etc.

And that my friends is the best statement yet. Nobody has the resources/time/money to r&d camshafts like the factory. You want more power, sure there are better alternatives.
But you will be giving up longevity, and quietness.
Hell if I wanted to go fast on 2 wheels, I wouldn't be riding a Harley...........LOL
No need to comment on the OP question, as it has been answered very well
Save yourself the headache and just go get Andrews 21 cams for your 88". If you plan on keeping it an 88" there is no better torque monster than the 21's. Love, love, love mine.
If you plan any other motor upgrades you have some more homework.
