Jason, or anyone here. Does anyone know of a matching horn cover to accent the fans? So the left side will have 3 circular pieces of art.
Sorry for the delay, been working on some new performance data, just published it on the website. Cool idea with the matching horn cover, I don't think anyone makes anything to match. Just a bigger fan cup to cover a horn, maybe a little heavier SS mesh. I wish I had time to build just one for my bike, but I don't want to jack your idea anyway, I'm good with the stock horn cover.
I currently have a Lenale that has been "rebuilt" after the fan failed (within 6 months of purchase). I found that the orignal fan unit was not very "weather" proof. I ride every day as my bike is my only mode of transport. I would be very interested in the dual fan design. I can't help thinking though that secured to the horn mount it'll get the crap shook out of it, which could lead to structural failure. If, however, the fan mount could be somehow attached to frame, this might lessen the stress considerably. Anyway, I'm following the thread and interested in test results during real world conditions. If you need a test mule in the Vegas area, I'm available. Good luck, hope it all works out.
Several of my friends use the LeNale including myself, we solved the issue with the vibration issues destroying the fan wiring by using hi-temp silicone caulk, it moves with the vibration, cheap fix.
I use the Wards fan along with the LeNale fan, I took a Sportster fan and mounted it between the frame rails on the front side of the engine, above the oil cooler, looks pretty nice!
How has your project progressed? I am seriously contemplating the frame mounted "Love Jugs" at the moment. Their web site and videos are pretty convincing albeit quite expensive. Unfortunately the "Love Jugs" are manual which I think is a negative. On the other hand when the temps are up at about 90 or 100 they can run all the time. I fall below the 5 posts position and as a result can't see your pictures which is the pity as I would like to see them for a comparison. I'll have to post more!
Robd1, you should be able to see the pics and read the data here
I have a round Arlen Ness horn cover that I think accents the fans pretty well. I will post up a pic later..
Thats the one i have found that would be the closest. I just didnt want to spend another $200 on a horn, even though it would match my oil and air filter and complement jasons fans. Now i wish i got the silver screens with the black housing
I have two sets of the Wards fans and they work just as Jason has represented them. Top shelf product!!!!! Wouldn't buy a competitors product just for the shear reason of the above post!!!! Bad taste IMHO for a competitor to post on this thread.
