For anyone who wants to hear them, here is a short clip. This is up close with my Samsung Galaxy Note, they are not very loud and you cant hear them with the bike running.

240 mile ride today down to Andersonville GA. 113 degrees!

Got the FCS Fan, and Jason's 160 degree thermostat. Oil temp never got over 250 degrees.

Thanks Jason! Your cooling system worked great in the Twin Cities yesterday. 95 degrees in stop to barely move traffic for roughly five miles and the rear cylinder never cut out. Talk about sweat my a** off though, engine heat sucks on days like that in traffic. Will be riding in a parade with other Harleys for the fourth, so see how it goes. Tempted to bring my Fluke thermometer to compare bike temps at the end to see the difference. Great product and everyone loves how they visually blend with the motor

Jason,

What is the recommended speed to shut off the older version fans?

BTW, took the MSF ERC (again, Mil req's every 3 yrs.) and the fans worked great riding around a closed course for 5 hrs in 90 deg heat.

I have more data to share. For the past two weeks it's been unseasonably hot here in S. LA, and after numerous rides with temps varying from 80-95° I haven't seen FCHT exceed 250°, and that high only twice. Normally, running temps stay between 230-245° for either highway or city riding as long as the fans are running, which is a considerably tighter temperature range than I would see without the FCS installed. I am now running the fans most of the time, switching them on after the bike has reached normal operating temp and only switching them off when going >60mph, which was Jason's recommendation from the beginning. Before purchase I had preconceptions that I would be switching the fans on only in traffic, but I now see the value of just leaving them on most of the time.

The FCS doesn't control oil temp as well as it does CHT, which makes sense because the oil flows through more areas of the engine than just the heads. I have seen OT hit ~225° once or twice lately in slow-moving conditions, which isn't much different than running without the fans, but what I've noticed is that once I get moving again it recovers more quickly. I think that's because the oil is flowing through heads that are potentially 30°+ cooler than they were without airflow from the fans. The bottom line after three weeks of use is that FCS is still clearly working well for me.

Agree that off/on control is not a issue as first percieved. Same here I leave them on to 60. I have really drop the ball watching oil temp its a PIA. With the dip stick read out and as of late my power vision has been in saddle bag so have not watched head temp. Darn happy with the fans
