I had a concern that mine would make contact since it is so close. I'm slightly more than 1/4" away so I've kept an eye on it to avoid any potential engine powder coat damage. So far I'm ok but at idle vibration it gets awfully close. Where is it that you guys are spacing it? It might be worth the added precaution. This should be very easy to fix. Benefits sure out weigh any minor adjustments.
Hey Jason- I hope I got in on one of the 150 you are able to make-but 2 quick questions-I have the power source run for a heated vest do you see any problem with me running the fans to that?
Also any chance of sending you a postal money order on the balance? Thanks
Greetings Jason. I realize you do not require full payment up front but it was easier just to take care of the whole thing at once. I'm probably the only order you will get from Alaska but why wait until I move south. Please let me know what number I am.
Update to the slight knock from the fans on the rear cylinder:
I've added a large washer left over from a Jeep body mount in behind the horn. I wirebrushed it and painted it to ensure no rusting. The color is Rustoleum hammered black simply because I had a little left in the can.
As you can see, it's a little larger than the original washer that was on the horn--same thickness though.
This is where it is going
And this is where it is now:
I stuck it in place with a little liquid electrical tape since the hole is a little larger than the stud. I went from about 1/10" spacing (0.097 on a feeler gauge) to 1/5" (0.200 on same feeler gauge). It's not quite the 1/4" spacing, but with the limited amount of knocking I got before I think this will work.
No knocking at idle on the stand or when revving it, but then I didn't have that before so it's not a good test. Going for a ride and I'll report later how it works. I'm pretty confident that this solves the problem though.

Yep, you made the cut for available stock. Any 12v power source will work but you'll have to provide a mating plug and wire it up. I'll PM you regarding balance payment.

I'm not running list numbers for the new deposits, those will be filled in the order they are recieved. You also made the cut for available stock, I'll post when I run out of available fan stock for new reservations, I think I have about 10 more, roughly. BTW #1 on the list went to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, it got stolen and I sent him a replacement, so there are already at least two in Alasksa.

With the deposit system, I'm no longer providing list numbers, I'm filling reservations in the order they are recieved, so far everyone who made a deposit up to now should recieve their system NLT mid Aug. Again I'm on vacation right now, and wont be shipping the next batch for about 10-14 days. I will post when I'm out of fan stock.
With the improved performance of the new fans, a speed based switching device is no longer required, the auto switch will be a simple thermostatic switch that will plug inline on the negative side. For those wanting to move the power source to the ACC switch, you may want to reconsider. With the auto switch the system needs a constant hot to function after "shutdown", such as the simple ring connections straight to the battery as the provided harness is configured. Using an IGN + will not allow the fant to run breifly after shutdown. It won't be much longer before a suitable switch is found, and again it will be a cheap and simple add on that plugs inline on the ground side, no major adjustments necessary to add the switch if you wired direct to the battery. I extented the harness again, I started at 30" and now its up to 36", somehow I'm sure this will still be too short for somebody. Also when I use up the toggle switches I have already soldered the pos lead to, the new ones will get a longer lead and make the pigtail coming out of the housing about 2" longer.
