these are often called "12's" but in fact they are 12.25"
standing height generally refers to height with weight on it ( like a bike and rider)---standing height is much the same as unladen height.
capped? don't understand- like the 13's these use air lines to change pressure which affect dampening and rebound- to compensate for laden weight such as passenger camping gear, luggage.
If the air pressure changes height at all it is minimal.
as described above, I run these on my 09.
are you trying to figure out a custom application?
Mike
You are probably measuring a shock with a different PN..
Are you measuring the shock while it is off of the bike? THAT has no meaning whatsoever. It is 12" on the bike and 13" on the bike. Your lightweight *** can NOT compare to a 500+lb bike for compressing shocks.
SHocks did NOT change lengths in 09. Same ol same ol.

Blockhead, are these new shocks? Or are these shocks you bought shipped in a lo profile shock box?
Is the number you're referring to on the box, or on the shocks themselves?
Box says new and the part number is on a sticker on the shock.

Don't understand that one, 12 on the bike and 13 on the bike? us must mean off the bike.
I measured them off the bike. I seriously doubt a Dyna will drop that shock 1". I tried to compress it on the floor, it takes a lot of pressure and it rebounds as it should.
I bought used stock '09 shocks for my '00 FLTR and they were 13" which is what I wanted. The reason you're getting grief is that the lo pro's are an inch shorter than stock, and to the best of my knowledge always have been.
Another thing to consider with the 09 and up shocks is that they can hold a higher air pressure than the earlier shocks. I'm not sure what the max is but I think it's something like 50 lbs.
maybe somebody mislabeled it at the factory or something cause there are only 2 shocks. 12 inch and 13 inch. if its a fltrx, flhx, or flhrs, then it is a 12 inch shock. any other touring bike, is a 13. doesn't matter if it's 09 and later or not.
yes, the shocks did change in 09, but that was an internal change and had no effect on the length.
