correct- unless you have a CA bike, which could be determined by the VIN.
tapping the header with a pen will 'cluank" if there is a cat in the header pipe, as I recall about 14" down from the head on an 09
( a couple of bikes i shopped were CA bikes- some dealers - like Yuma- stock CA bikes so that they can sell to either AZ or Ca customers- you may run into the same thing in Nevada
