Default I Can't Believe I Did It....

Yesterday (Sunday) I stopped into the dealership to have the brake light switch recall taken care of on my 2010 EG Classic, and while they were working on it I of course walked the dealership admiring the 2012s. I should have known this could be dangerous. I had been oogling them ever since the Moco made the changes...going to the 103, oil cooler, etc etc...but figured with having a 2010 it just wasnt in the cards without taking a lump of cash out of my pocket.

Well the long and the short of it is that a few hours later I was the proud new owner of a 2012 Ultra Classic with ABS and security in ember red sunglo. Every objection I had the dealer overcame, including not having to give them a dime out of my pocket. They really stepped up on the trade in price, included swapping out everything I didnt want to start over with that I had done to the 2010...all the stage 1 stuff including re-mapping the PC-V for the 103, handlebars, seat, windshield, etc...and got it to the point I just really had no reason to say no any more. And when I was still on the edge they came up with a financing package that included no interest for 90 days and no payments for 120 days. At that point I just said screw it, lets get it done!

I dont have the new bike yet, that will be next Monday. They kept both my "old" and new bike to do all the swapping while I was traveling for work this week. When I asked how I was gonna get home since they are 50 miles from my house, they stepped up again and gave me a rental to use free of charge until next Monday.

I keep thinking I'm a lunatic for doing this when it was the furthest thing from my mind, but at least I am a happy lunatic Christmas for me is coming 1 day late, but I can wait!

Sounds like a great dealer experience. Why don't you let us know which dealer it was. Usually most people are quick to say a name if they feel they got wronged.

Good for you! Nice to hear that some dealers are willing to go the extra mile (or 50) in order to make a sale, rather than acting like they are doing you a favor by marking it up 5% over MSRP!

It was Space Coast HD in Palm Bay. They did a really excellent job and spent a lot of time to make it happen. I'm sure they made their money, that's why they are in business, but they took the time to make it work for all involved.
