Default Hello ... Looking for help with 23" front install

I have a 09 SG ... and would like to install a 23" front wheel WITHOUT cutting the frame .. I have calculated the trail using 7dgree trees and it is within a 1/2 inch of stock ..

Anybody like to share actual results ?

Thanks

Which trees are those? Do they have a reduced offset? And are you using longer fork legs?

Just asking, because I'm thinking along the same lines....

So.....I cant find alot of info on aftermarket trees and offset.

Thats why im looking for people who are running just trees and how it rides . There are some issues that people discuss as rake and trail problems but maybe caused by fallaway setup not correct and not so much trees and others could still be a total new bike feel as they have done so much work . for example bars, lowered rear air shocks , and different size wheels like 18/23 .

I am looking at HHI trees because they have the tube extentions with the trees .. and some other people offer them and say they have had no issue .

thanx

Here's a link that has a lot of good info. I like the set up that Robert Dennis used and will be going that route myself.... I have things all ordered up for the winter project. There's been a few guys here on the forum that went this direction with good results!

I just got mine on the road today after installing the Harley Trike trees. I did a lot of other things so it's been down for awhile and i don't have a lot of time to work on it. Along with the trike trees which I think are 4 degrees, I installed the 18" rear/23" front. Didn't get to take pictures today because of all the family stuff but absolutely had to ride it while I had the chance. I did not lengthen the fork tubes and just used stock length. It does move the front wheel far enough to make the 23" look better. It definately raised the whole bike up, I'm guessing about and inch and a half, maybe even 2". It gives it more of a chopper feel while driving it because the front is higher. The front end is definately "lighter" feeling. Very responsive! I didn't get it more than 90 today, but noticed no wobbling. It feels diferent to drive, especially when getting on it hard at the take off. This is the first time I've driven it since the dyno tune, so adding 20 horse power to it may be in this mix also because this is where I'm noticing it the most. I'll spend some more time on it tomorrow when I have more time and will reply then. If you go this way, don't even mess with 1 3/4" longer bolts for the lower fork clamps, just get the 2". You will definately need to get a trike fairing skirt as the fork legs being kicked out make the touring bike skirts too short to reach the blinker bolt. I didn't realize this until I put it together and didn't read the other guys build instructions good enough. I don't have my front fender on yet. Another forum member here sent me an email and offered to send me brackets to mount my stock fender since he made himself a set already and made 2 while he was at it, but I as yet haven't received it.

Whatever you do don't use Tricky trees. Your safety is more important. If you just want to use trees and not rake the frame. I would definetly talk to Paul at Native. I raked my frame, but if I didn't have the means to cut it he would be the route I'd go.
