Hello, I'm a new forum member and I ride a 2010 FLHX. I am looking to replace my bags and rear fender with stretched ones. What's the best brand and type out there? I have heard some say ABS and some say fiberglass. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks
through all my researching I went with Milwaukee bags and Bad Dad fender. Milwaukee bags are fiberglass and have a great interior finish. Fiberglass fender was nice to work with for frenched in led's
Just finished my mockup with sinister fender and bags, the bags are ABS, slightly thicker than the Harley Bags. The fender is a replacement not overlay. Quality is very high on both pieces, I have a small amount of trimming on the right exhaust cut out on the fender, the radius is slightly smaller than the left side. Here is my set up. I also installed cycle sound lids. The finished bike below is the same set up other than the lids. I went with cycle sound as I was concerned with the clearance with the detachable tour pak I use for when the
wife rides or for overnight trips. If you stay with Milwaukee, Top Shop, Sinister, yaffe, etc. you will do fine. Based on the research I did prior to my build, the consensus is the cheaper bags require additional prep work so the cost is basically a wash. Good luck and have fun on the project. Nothing like cutting on a$500.00 fender with a Dremil Tool. Regardless of your selection your going to have to tweak here and there to get a clean fit.

You would think that when you buy a fender replacement you wouldnt have to do any cutting on it to make it fit, definatley doing my homework before I shell out big bucks for mine.

I paid over $2000 for mine and thought the same thing. But I still had to shim and modify
