Let's turn this around a bit......
You and your wife come walking through the dealers door looking for a bike.
What would be the highest price you would pay for the one year old used model vs the brand new bike?
make sure you check your front wheel bearing on the abs side when changing tires my dealer found mine bad and said he had replaced several and the new ones are fixed, mine had 19,000+ miles, it was a warranty repair
I'd say they'd give you a good deal if they have a prospective buyer looking for your 2011...did you throw a # at the sales rep? If serious - throw out a offer & see how it plays...never know until you try - good luck & let us know how it goes.
If you two are thinking and wondering about it, wait until the worst weather day of the winter and go in and see your dealer and get the answer to your questions. Check with several dealers. As said, you are in the drivers seat on this one.
The worst thing that can happen is that the deal doesn't go to your favor and you still have a great bike to ride.
As always, if you don't ask, the answer is always NO!
I have a 2011 SG which I like very much. I an leaning on trading it two years from now. Because of that I'm not doing to many upgrades. You get nothing for upgrades when you trade. I'm thinking of RG for my next bike.
Local Ocala dealership averages 4-5k per year on upgrade.
Wow 4-5k per year? I just traded 07 FLSTC with 35k on it for a2012 Street Glide for less than 8k. I have always liked my dealer and trusted them, now you know why.

if you like it so much, why are you already making plans to trade? why not ride it, mod it, and keep it?
