I have a 2011 EG Limited cool blue/ black that I am really enjoying. Wife and I were at H-D dealer the other day and she fell in love with the new 2012 big blue/ black. How much of a hit would I take to trade so soon ?
Just curious..
no way to tell unless you talk to the sales dude. i've seen posts where someone traded in a one year old bike and it cost him less than a grand. i've also seen posts where someone traded in a relatively new bike and it cost him several thousand.
all depends on the deal you can work with the dealer. but remember, you have the upper hand here. you have a new bike and don't have to sell. he does have to sell to stay in business. you don't like what you hear, then you walk.
I would say at least $1,000-$2,000 or around that ball park. But why are you really wanting to go 2012, just because of the 103 motor? I would just keep the bike you have now, but that is your choice.

You can probably buy the paint set you want and have it installed for less than the beating you will take on the trade, especially if you do the exchange program. Have it done and your wife will be happy, the differences in the bikes are ZERO.
Except for a wheel bearing.
