Different breathers, 08 roadglide???
They did not have the individule parts (2 gaskets, umbrella, mesh screen) but they did have the kit so I bought that.
When I got home and opened the boxes I found that the entire breather has been changed/upgraded. PN 17025-03A is a single unit with umbrella, mesh, and the two halves or covers as one piece with 2 new bolts and no skinny middle bolt.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and when the upgrade happened. I am assuming it will be a better breather, oil catcher.
Will be putting them on tonight. Hope this is not a mistake?!? Anyone else see this change?
Thanks,
Doug
diagram of it in the 2011 model year technical forum, google the pdf and you'll see.
there may be 2 sets of bolts in the kit dependent on your rocker boxes
--- found this out on the interwebs:
The bolts are shorter because the breather is thinner than the cast breather. The new design allows the separate oil to be drained out of the breather faster and the air/oil separator is a denser material which helps stop that misting of oil in the air filter.
Caution.....be careful with the new bolts....they have been known to break the casting of the head by the bolt breaking through. Seems some casting aren't drilled as far as others.
Doc
so it looks like you want to run the bolts in by hand first and check that they don't bottom out in the bore
