Just posting up some info for you. I bought my used 2006 Electra Glide Classic at a dealer in Nov 2010 with 30K miles on it for $11,000. I'm not sure of the market in your area, but at the time I bought mine, similar bikes were priced for around $14,000.
Good luck with your sale. Are you buying a new bike? If so, whacha lookin at?
$11.5's a little rich for your bike (fairly stock + high miles). I'd do the $9995 deal (under $10K) in the spring & start saving remaining $1.5K from your budget...in the end you'll meet the goal ($11.5K)...good luck w/the sale.
I won't comment on the price, as I'm not really qualified and don't live in your area. However, if you aren't desperate to sell, go ahead and put an ad on Craig's list and run it for a while.
I did that with my Suzuki, put a price that I thought was fair (although other areas of the country it would have seemed expensive), and indicated that I would entertain offrs - but would not consider any lowball offers. About 6 weeks later the right buyer came along; the first person to look at it, bought it without any qubbling on my price.
I traded my 01 Ultra Classic with 65,000 miles at Orlando Harley for the 2011 SG 103. They gave me $9,000.00 for my 01. I would think you would be able to get your asking price if you were to sell it instead of trading it.
