I am in the same boat, just picked up a set of hard bags, and will need the fix too.
I do have a set of locks with matched keys still in the package for my Road King Custom leather bags.
Does anyone know if I can use those locks on the hard bags? Maybe just the barrel part?
I can't put my hands on them right now to compare.
Any barrel key of the same diameter will work. Your harley key or any other harley key will work. The locks on the bag and the tank are not key speciffic.

Huh ? So your saying my hard saddlebag key will open any other Harley saddlebag or gas lid ?
When my son was in college he had a kryptonite bicycle lock. It also had the barrel lock. Any Bic plastic pen with the end plug removed could be forced into the barrel lock and turned and the lock would open. Shortly after that was discovered they changed design. Never tried it myself but I wonder if it would work on the HD.

Fuel door = yes/bags = no...otherwise everyone could get a one & open/steal bags. You'll need to get new lock/key set.

Bag keys are specific to the bike! Any old key SHOULDN'T WORK!

Wondering if you can get the locks set up to match your other locks so you only have to carry the one key? Anybody know if the can be set up to match?'fooz
Go to the dealer, and order new locks for the bags using YOUR BIKES info. The locks will come with new keys that are the same as your bikes!
I ordered locks keyed to my ignition key last summer by using the four digit key code, they came from the MOCO through Zannotti's, you could use Surdyke and they should run about $35.
My experience is that you can't use just any Harley key to open the locks on hard bags. If it were me, I'd try my ignition key in the bags. If it works, you're 'home'. If they are not the same version as your ignition key (probably not), then I'd order a set of locks whose version matches that of your ignition. Then you'll have one key for all the locks on your bike. I did the latter. I believe it cost around 60 bucks for 2 sets of keys/locks. The Harley dealer can help you sort it out. Good luck.
