Hello, first of all, I did use search and read through a ton of threads but they did not answer my question.
I am looking for a saddle bag lid protector but I would like ones that blend in well with rest of my bike (vivid black). I have been looking at these from Harley but I would prefer something like the mustang set that covers the entire lid. I guess it's the dull leather next to the vivid black that I don't care for. I think the mustangs look great on different colored bikes. Thanks for the help and suggestions. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
I have motocycle armor on my saddle bags..its clear film.i had them on my first sg that was black.cant even tell there on there.welll worth it protects against kick skuffs.protects the top of the bags...
How about the Ridetek Lid Covers, they cover the whole top, but have areas on the side that show the lid. I love mine. Keep 'em armor all'd and they won't look dull either.
Motocycle armor is precut to fit the top of the bag..simple to install, the kit comes with everthing you need..theres. not cutting..the nice thing bout them there warrenteed for life..the get all skuffed up send the old ones back for new ones
The guy I purchased my bike from had harley soft lid protectors on the bags, another on the bat wing and one on the back 1/4 of the gas tank. I removed them as I did not care for the look. They played hell on the paint (clearcoat) finish. Specifically the 1/4 tank piece. I suspected that debris would gather as the opening was toward the front. I was right.
As a tip to others I used "maas" jewlers polish and worked out the scuff marks to a factory finish but I was crapping my pants it wouldn't work.
Don't bother or waste the money, they just haze up the clear-coat that's on them already. That's why the bags are clear-coated to begin with ! (bend your knee when you swing your foot over), just buff out if it gets too bad. Disregard this if you wear chains on your boots.
