Backrest
Anyone using a non Harley backrest on a stock seat? I purchased the Harley one and it pushes me up too straight. I have the mount as far back as it will go and I'm still too straight and my arms are too bent. I am much more comfortable without it. Any suggestions on another brand?
You need the adjustable riders back rest mounting kit (25296-09A):http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
You can lean way back with it.
Thats if you want to keep the stock seat.
If this is the back rest kit you are using:http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

With backrest # 52914-09a
The one you mention is adjustable for what they call 30 degrees. Only the top moves 30 degrees. The angle on that unit is the only thing that is adjustable. I want the whole thing to move back towards the passenger area of the seat. If I can figure out how to remove the bracket from the backrest I will give bending it a try. Right now I have the install kit as far back as it will go and it is still too far forward.
Girlfriend is thin so she should not have a problem with the reduced room. If she bumps into it I will have to put my hand between her and the backrest so she does not hurt kitty. Depending on the month of the year she is either 14 or 15 years younger than me. I just can not out run her when she is angry.
