have an 11 SG i bought brand new in Aug, only have 7200 miles and the sidewalls have cracks in them already. I keep them properly inflated, I check at least 2 times a week when I check the fluids. Anybody else ever had this problem? They have 2011 stamped on the sidewall
Never on tires that new. Were they made in China? I've heard some bad things about Chinese tires. I've seen cracked sidewalls on good name brand tires with less than 1000 miles on them, recently installed too. But the code showed they were 10 years old.
Guys buying used bikes: don't go by when the tires were supposedly installed, check the code on the tire (google tire date code, you'll find it); you don't want to be riding a Harley with 10 year old tires, even with zero miles. Amazing how long some tires can sit on the back of a shelf, and then end up as a "special sale".

Check the manufacture date on the tire, if it's less than 5yrs old I wouldn't worry about it, if they are 5yrs old replace them. The date code will have 4 numbers in a pill shaped circle. The first two digits is the month, the second set is the year ie: 1411 (14th week of 2011) or 0411 (4th week of 2011).
