I've never heard pipes as deep and mellow as when I installed my Supertrap Fatshots on my True Duals headers. I won't go back.
edit: No matter what brand headers you go with, make sure that they are ceramic coated inside and out. Helps with the heat tremendously. Mine are Rush.
I have the Rush Big Louies w/ 2.5" baffle. Very mild deep sound. You have to get on it to hear em. They were a little quiet for my taste. I however cut the inner baffles off and unwrapped the secondary baffles. It made about a 25% sound increase. I run the Fuelpak adjusted accordingly. The mufflers stock out of the box are mild and deep.
The challenge is - at least for me - that there are so many "good sounds", all a bit different, so you are always looking and hearing something better. It's not better, it's different.
I have now Supertraps with discs and I like the deep rumble like newer before. My only complain is that you can't have the shark finn type tails for this. Only the ugly fishtails...
If you could go down where allot of bikes come and go and just listen.. For me was the Rush True Duals w/1.75" baffles slipons, (not big louie) I'm very happy with my set up... Hope this helps.
