Looking for comments / votes on exhaust. I personally like a low deep sound, but not excessively loud (especially on touring bike).
I have narrowed to:
Rush Big Louie
V&H Monster Ovals
Supertrap (SE version with plates - add extra plates)
First two are more likely I think. Would put in tru Dual headers (either V&H or Rush with the ceramic coating).
Also leaning towards Fuelpak since engine is stock (no cam upgrade etc) - and apparently it does a good job. Otherwise would look at TTS, but reticent to spend that money for a pretty stock setup.
Appreciate any and all advice & experiences. Thanks.
All good choices. Personally, I am partial to the SuperTrapp 2:1; have this set up on my Fat Boy and RG. Has a good throaty sound while running through the gears, but is nice and quiet while cruising along.
Go to their web-site for information, it is very informative

I have the Supertraps with stock headers and it is a low rumble but not loud. My buddy has the Supertrap with the V&H Dresser Duals and they can get loud. Neither have extra plates, and I appreciate both setups. Hope it helps.
I have/had supertrapps on a number of bikes. I think they are the perfect pipe for flexibility, power, noise control.
On my 09 FLHTC I have the stock headers and initially swapped over the supertrapp supermegs from my Evo bagger- retuned for the motor and happy as a clam.
recently a set of screaming eagle nightsticks became available for $200- and i put them on to good result.
for tuning and noise control, I have put closed end caps inside of the stock open end cap, and increased the disc count for optimal tuning about 15 rt side and 9 left side- here's a pic of the supermegs
the left side has a bunch of 'dummy" discs to make the 2 sides look equal in length- in the below photo you can see a line, from the "active" end cap in the middle of the disc stack
I have pals with louder bikes, I won't ride behind them all day.

This is really interesting. How did you tune each side to figure out the disc count?
What did you do for tuning on the bike in general? Just a stage 1, or do you have some kind of tuner (TTS, SE Super Tuner, PC, Fulepak etc)?
I have a V&H pro pipe which I like, I was on the fence for a supertrap pipe. My friend got the supertrap, my bike sounds good, his bike sounds like a 396 Chevelle!!!! I WISH I WOULD HAVE GOT THAT DAMN PIPE!

Rush Big Louie (I've had RUSH mufflers but not this paticular one, never did like the sound)
Supertrap (SE version with plates - add extra plates) (I had these after a cam change and were too loud under any power, even just going uphill with the cruise on)
V&H Monster Ovals (these are awesome) (low rumble, not loud) I would also recomend the 4" Rhinehart (low rumble, not loud) (not the standard 3 1/2", never did like that sound either and too loud)
