Hey I'm looking to get rid of those ugly bars that are around the Sattle bags. My bike is an 07 ultra classic does anyone have any pictures or what parts to use to replace the other stuff as you need that bottom support
You need a different Saddlebag Support Bracket if you are removing the Guards. The new bracket/support is just the loop under the bags
There are a lot of people that have added the Guards and probably have the support bracket off their bike. I bet you could get a set cheap used . Try EBay or post a wanted ad in the classifieds here on HD Forums. I have a set but want to keep them in case I ever want to remove the guards
If you go to the below link, you can look at the diagrams and compare the different supports used--- and get parts numbers so you can troll ebay knowing you are getting the correct part by number.
The other posters have pointed you in the right direction. For what its worth, and I'm not trying to be a d!ck, but make sure you spell what you're looking for correctly. They are saddlebag guards. If you did some searching with the wrong spelling that may have been why you came up empty handed.
On the other hand, I love searching ebay with intentionally misspelled words in the titles, that's a great way to get a deal. People misspell Jimmy Buffett with one T all the time and thus those (for instance concert tickets) don't show up when people search with both t's.
If something along those lines is what you're looking for (you need to plug those holes with something), lemme know and I'll try to dig up part numbers and such.
BTW - Those are the stock mounts for the rails - Added some washers and what not to make those studs stay in firm. Gets a lot of nods... :-)
If you run the Street Glide style support rails ( part number 46565-04 ), you can lose the rear crash bars and clean up the area around the saddlebags even more.
I removed mine, and since put them back on. when I took mine off, I just unbolted the rails and covered the holes with some leather wraps that I made from an old leather jacket. I just cut it to size, sewed on some velcro. I thought it looked good. I put them back on after I had a tip over in my garage. No damage, but it made me think that I wanted the added protection.
