Installed the SE compensator on my 2010 SG early this spring. Have 4k miles on it and today I heard the knocking sound coming distinctly from the left side/Primary. Used the newer version and have had formula + in it. Interested to hear a resolution to this.. Hopefully it isn't going back to stock.
all this after I changed mine....hmmm..... wish the moco would get there parts worked out before sending them out to the public.. my bikes are not under warrenty... all out of my pocket.. hopefully thay hold up...I thought these were the answer
I have a S.E. compensator installed in my 2008 Electra-Glide-Ultra-Classic, replaced , because of broken-tooth on original. Installed according to instructions. Cleaned threads, chased-threads with tap/die,cleaned with brake-cleaner, installed red-lock-tite, double-checked bolt torque, thought, I would never look-back, yet still more noise that I like. I have replaced inner-primary-bearing & race, checked automatic-tensioner, chain, alignment of chain, and am not sure what to do from here. Crusing say around 50-mph, there is this sort of chatter, changing speed, clutching seems to make it go away. Moving bike short distance and clutching, I hear something like the chain tensioner working. Running Vtwin Mobile-1, with Lukas, Motorcycle-oil-stabilizer presently, seeing if makes any difference.
I plan on removing my SE Comp soon, installed it less than 2 weeks ago.
Can't deal with the chatter after it warms up. Quite an perfect until you have
run 30-40 miles. Chatter Chatter Chatter on a 08 with IDS. This Chatter is why
I put the IDS on my 07 then later sold the bike. Now I have the Chatter problem
back, this time on my 08. WTF?? I would rather have the HOT Start issues than
clatter while cruising down the highway.
I've got about 10-15k on my SE comp. Generating a lot of noise now, and she jerks like crazy going through a parking lot. I changed to the SE comp, 'cause of hammer-like slap at startup. I had been planning to pull the primary again to see if anything amiss. Hell, then I catch up on the forum a little, and here's all these threads about the SE comp being a POS... frick. Guess my winter projects got a little deeper...

Remember you only here the bad. I got 49k on my SE comp and no issues.
